What is CDPAP?

The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a New York Medicaid program that lets you choose your own caregiver — including a family member, neighbor, or close friend — to help you with daily living at home.

Unlike traditional home care, CDPAP puts you in charge. You hire, train, and direct your personal assistant. If you qualify for Medicaid, there is no cost to you for the program itself — payments to your PA are handled through PPL.
